TL;DR

The exrmetrics tool mishandles subsampled channels when a data window has a positive origin, so row or sample addressing can write past a heap allocation. Running exrmetrics on a crafted subsampled EXR can therefore crash the tool or corrupt heap memory. The fix corrects subsampled positive-origin addressing in exrmetrics.

Who does this affect?

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you run the exrmetrics tool on untrusted EXR files with subsampled channels and a nonzero data-window origin.

Background info
