TL;DR

On Windows and macOS, an HTTPS connection can be reused for the same host when CURLSSLOPT_NATIVE_CA differs from the value used to create the connection. The reused connection keeps the earlier native CA decision, so the new trust setting is not applied. The fix includes the native CA flag in the reuse check.

Who does this affect?

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you change CURLSSLOPT_NATIVE_CA on a reused HTTPS connection.

Background info

libcurl is vulnerable to Improper Certificate Validation in versions 7.71.0 - 8.21.0.

How to fix this

Upgrade the libcurl and/or the curl.curl library to the patch version.
