uu_stdbuf is vulnerable to Untrusted Search Path
73
High Risk
The stdbuf utility writes its helper library into a temporary directory derived from TMPDIR and adds that path to LD_PRELOAD. A TMPDIR value containing a colon splits LD_PRELOAD into multiple entries, so the dynamic loader preloads an unrelated library before main runs. The fix rejects a resolved library path that contains a colon.
You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and a local user can set TMPDIR when you run stdbuf.
uu_stdbuf is vulnerable to Untrusted Search Path in versions 0.0.1 - 0.9.0.
