The custom flow prompt template sandbox accepts a flow configuration that escapes the template engine. An authenticated user with Duo Agent Platform access can therefore run arbitrary commands on the AI Gateway. The fix confines flow prompt templates so a crafted configuration cannot leave the sandbox.

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and authenticated users with Duo Agent Platform access can edit flow configurations on a self-hosted AI Gateway.

gitlab-ai-gateway is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution (RCE) in versions 18.1.6 - 19.2.3, 19.3.0 - 19.3.1 and 19.4.0 - 19.4.0.
