When proxy selection comes from environment variables, reusing an easy handle keeps Digest proxy authentication state from the previous proxy, the same leak as CVE-2026-7168 with a different way of choosing the proxy. A later transfer through a different proxy still sends the Proxy-Authorization header meant for the first proxy. The second proxy receives authenticated state for that request. The fix clears proxy Digest state when the proxy changes.

How to fix this
Upgrade the libcurl and/or the curl.curl library to the patch version.
