TL;DR

The style-map tokeniser matches quoted strings with stringPrefix, a regular expression whose escaped-character alternatives overlap. An unterminated quoted string of repeated backslash escapes in a document style map makes that expression backtrack without bound and blocks the event loop. The fix rewrites stringPrefix so those alternatives no longer overlap.

Who does this affect?

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you convert untrusted documents that include a style map.
