For scp and sftp transfers that use CURLOPT_SSH_KEYFUNCTION, a server host key whose type does not match the type already stored for that host in known_hosts is still accepted. The callback path does not fail the mismatch, so the transfer continues to an unverified host. The fix maps that mismatch to a failed host check.

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you use CURLOPT_SSH_KEYFUNCTION for SCP or SFTP.

How to fix this
Upgrade the libcurl and/or the curl.curl library to the patch version.
