hickory-net is vulnerable to Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature
50
Medium Risk
When collecting NSEC and NSEC3 records for nonexistence proofs, the validator accepts a record as long as at least one record with a matching name passed validation, without matching the record type. A bogus NSEC or NSEC3 record can be accepted when mixed with a valid record of a different type at the same name. This weakens signature validity checks on denial-of-existence records. The fix requires the specific record to be validated.
You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you have DNSSEC validation enabled
