TL;DR

THeaderTransport::untransform() and transform() decompress and compress frames with zlib, and on a malformed or oversized frame they throw without calling inflateEnd() or deflateEnd(). Each failed frame leaks the zlib stream's memory, so a peer who can repeat it exhausts the process. The fix releases the zlib stream on every error path before throwing.

Who does this affect?

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you enable the zlib transform on THeaderTransport for untrusted peers.

Background info
