With the extended search engine enabled, TermParser finds every compact in: and has: filter and then runs str_replace() over the whole remaining term once per match. A long Special:Search term with many of those filters makes that work grow with the square of the input size and holds a request worker. The fix bounds that preprocessing so the work no longer grows with the square of the term.
