The exrmakepreview tool sizes Array2D buffers from data-window dimensions using arithmetic that truncates on ILP32 builds. A crafted EXR with an oversized data window can therefore cause a heap buffer overflow while exrmakepreview runs on a 32-bit build. The fix rejects or correctly sizes the oversized allocation.
