drupal/core is vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS)
55
Medium Risk
Drupal core bundles CKEditor for WYSIWYG editing, and a high-severity XSS in the CKEditor engine can be triggered when that editor is enabled. An attacker who can create or edit content (even without CKEditor access) may inject crafted markup, including style attributes that hit a prototype-pollution flaw in CKEditor's es-toolkit dependency, and execute JavaScript in the browsers of users who open the WYSIWYG editor — including site admins. Drupal also notes a second, low-severity CKEditor XSS that does not affect core but may affect custom plugins.
You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and Drupal is configured to use CKEditor for WYSIWYG editing.
drupal/core is vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS) in versions 10.5.0 - 10.6.16, 11.0.0 - 11.3.16 and 11.4.0 - 11.4.6.
Upgrade the drupal/core library to the patch version. Drupal 10.5.x and 11.2.x and below are end-of-life and do not receive security coverage — upgrade to a supported release (10.6.17, 11.3.17, or 11.4.7).
