TL;DR

The browser-tools server exposes a WebSocket and HTTP API that captures browser logs and screenshots for a connected MCP client. A caller-supplied screenshot path arriving over an unauthenticated WebSocket is inserted into an osascript shell command, while the server binds to all network interfaces with no authentication. Any peer reachable on the local network can execute operating-system commands as the running user and read captured data such as authorization headers, cookies, and screenshots. The fix removes the path-to-shell feature, binds to loopback only, and adds per-run bearer token authentication, origin and Host validation, and settings allowlisting.
