bcpkix-jdk15on is vulnerable to Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity
82
High Risk
CMS AuthenticatedData accepts authenticated attributes when digestAlgorithm is absent, so attacker-inserted attributes are exposed even though the MAC never covered them. The fix rejects inconsistent digestAlgorithm and authAttrs presence in both the in-memory and streaming CMS paths.
You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you parse CMS AuthenticatedData and make authorization, routing, or labeling decisions from authenticated attributes.
bcpkix-jdk15on is vulnerable to Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity in versions 1.47 - 1.70.
Migrate the bcpkix-jdk15on dependency to bcpkix-jdk18on 1.86 or later, or to bcpkix-jdk15to18 1.86 or later if you cannot move to Java 8, as the jdk15on coordinates receive no security fixes.
