seroval is vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS)
75
High Risk
seroval's async serializer parseAsync recurses through nested values for serializeAsync and toJSONAsync without the depthLimit check already enforced on the sync parsing path. Passing deeply nested or externally supplied data to serializeAsync or toJSONAsync drives recursion until the call stack is exhausted, crashing the process instead of raising a seroval error. The fix applies depthLimit inside parseAsync and throws SerovalDepthLimitError once the limit is reached.
You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you pass externally controlled nested data to serializeAsync or toJSONAsync.
seroval is vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) in versions 0.0.1 - 1.5.5.
