rails_admin is vulnerable to Improper Authorization
83
High Risk
RailsAdmin's Pundit authorization adapter rescues Pundit::NotDefinedError when a model has no policy scope and returns the model's full unscoped relation instead of an empty one. The index, export, and bulk delete actions merge that unscoped relation into the record set they operate on. A user with list, export, or bulk delete permission but no policy scope defined for a model can view, export, or delete every record of that model rather than only the records their policy would allow. The fix returns an empty scope from the rescue instead of the unscoped relation.
You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you use the Pundit authorization adapter without a policy scope defined for the affected model.
rails_admin is vulnerable to Improper Authorization in versions 0.8.1 - 3.3.0.
