Clearing proxy authentication credentials on an easy handle leaves the previous username and password in place. A later transfer on that handle sends those credentials even though the application asked for them to be removed. The fix clears the stored proxy credentials when the application sets them to empty.

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you clear proxy credentials on a reused easy handle.

libcurl is vulnerable to Information Disclosure in versions 8.8.0 - 8.20.0.
How to fix this
Upgrade the libcurl and/or the curl.curl library to the patch version.
