TL;DR

Running the scanner with JSON output can include a short prefix of a detected secret in the emitted findings. Credential previews reach the JSON paths without full redaction, leaking a few characters of the underlying secret value. Users who store or forward this JSON output can expose partial credential strings. The fix redacts the previewed characters so secret material no longer reaches the JSON output.

Who does this affect?

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range and you use the --json output and store or forward it.
