TL;DR

Affected versions of the package are vulnerable because request signature verification compared HMAC signatures using non-constant-time string comparison (such as ===/!==). This allowed attackers to exploit timing differences to recover or distinguish valid signatures. Additionally, insufficient timestamp validation allowed non-numeric or out-of-range values, which could enable bypass of expiry checks.

Who does this affect?

You are affected if you are using a version that falls within the vulnerable range.
